Customers win while raising money for local Heart & Stroke Foundation

Kamloops, BC – February 1, 2024 – Green is our signature colour, but in February that changes to red as both of The Chopped Leaf

restaurants in Kamloops raise money for the local chapter of the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Buy a heart for $2 and receive a FREE Chopped water and a $2 OFF coupon for your next visit. It’s a WIN-WIN. The goal is to fill up the restaurants’ walls with red hearts!

“I was first involved with Heart & Stroke for a one-day fundraiser and saw where the money was going locally and the people it benefited. I knew I had to get on board,” said franchisee Brenda Chornohus who owns and operates both Kamloops locations. “Then it became one of those stories… you don't know until it hits your own family. My mom had a stroke. I saw what the organization did for people affected and I knew I had to do something more.”

This is the 11th year for the fundraiser at the Kamloops stores, and the 6th year for the “Paint the Wall Red” promotion which runs for the entire month of February. The money that  is raised stays local.

“Our team loves this initiative; they are on board from the get-go. Our two locations make it a friendly competition to see who can sell more heart and raise more money!” she added. “Last year we raised $2,500 and we’re hoping to surpass that goal, especially with that one extra day in February this year.”
