Innovative Food Brands Proudly Donates to the COVID-19 Response Fund for Food Banks
OAKVILLE – April 21, 2020 – The outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has confronted us all, and Innovative Food Brands has recognized the food bank networks’ need of support as they provide critical food resources to communities affected or at risk.
COVID-19 has impacted food banks across the country and has left communities facing devastating effects. Food banks are seeing declines in the number of volunteers who are able to support their efforts, the amount of stock they have access to pick up has been drastically reduced, and food bank users have had to prepare and react to the precautions around COVID-19; leaving them more vulnerable. Like many, food banks are worried about how to continue financially supporting their efforts through this crisis and into the future.
As a result, Food Banks Canada has launched a $150 million national campaign to assist food banks across Canada as they continue to do their critical work and support those who are vulnerable. Food banks across Canada will receive 100% of the funds raised. Most importantly, they need the support of communities to help source, package and deliver the essential food items to those in desperate need.
Food Banks Canada provides national leadership to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow in collaboration with the food bank network in Canada. They support a network of provincial associations, affiliate food banks, and food agencies that work at the community level to provide food and food resources.
Innovative Food Brands focuses on providing wholesome food options, and believes access to nutritious food is critical to live a balanced, fulfilled life. Fresh food is at the core of their business mandate, and so the decision to donate to this national charitable organization focused on hunger relief was clear.
