Chopped Leaf Opens 61st Restaurant in Medicine Hat by Multi-Unit Owner, Demonstrates Brand Profitability

Fan favourite and rapidly expanding restaurant chain, The Chopped Leaf, has opened its 61st location in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Brothers Braden and Nathan Bosch have opened the doors to their fifth location, with seven more units coming within the next two years in Alberta. It is the fifth location to open in 2018.

Multi-unit ownership is a testament to the profitability of the brand. Careful franchise partner selection and a focus on same-store sales growth have been critical to maintaining the high quality of food and service, and the health of the franchise system.

Out of 88 signed unit agreements for new openings in Canada and the US, 54 are with franchise partners who already own one or more units.

Multiple revenue streams are available in a Chopped Leaf business, all of which touch on the convenience that Chopped Leaf delivers: catering, online orders, take out, hot lunch and school programs, and gift cards.

The Bosch brothers’ success with the brand is exemplary of the heights achievable by a strong partnership between franchisor and franchisee.

Visit the first location in Medicine Hat at Unit 102 2430 Division Ave NW Medicine Hat, AB T1C1Z2.
