OAKVILLE, ON – February 4, 2020 – The Vancouver Soup Festival was the perfect way to warm up during the cold month of January.  The Chopped Leaf had three soups in competition, with the Mexicali featured in week one taking second place, the Tuscan Kale during week two taking first place, and the Spicy Creamy Tomato in week three placing second.

The Vancouver Soup Festival presented by Vancouver Foodster was a success and The Chopped Leaf was thrilled to showcase three of their favourite soups, two of which were recently added to the menu. Restaurants around Vancouver picked one unique soup creation to feature each week, for three consecutive weeks. Customers were encouraged to try each soup and vote for their favourite daily throughout the competition.

Customers were given voting criteria to help rank their favourites, including: uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, creativity, originality, price, value and taste. They were also encouraged to share their photos during the festival through Twitter and Instagram with the festival’s handle and hashtag.

The Chopped Leaf featured three soups, including the Tuscan Kale: A vegetable medley made with tomatoes, onion, celery, carrots, kale, lemon juice & spices, the Mexicali: A hearty soup made with tomatoes, black beans, onions, banana peppers, jalapeno peppers, garlic & spices, and the Spicy Creamy Tomato: A smooth and savoury base that kicks a classic tomato flavour up a notch.
